The Least Of These

I just got back from a 2 week missions trip to Peru! I can't even begin to explain how amazing it was! A group of 13 of us from Merge went with Food for the Hungry to Chincha, Peru where we did all sorts for ministry with the local community. I guess I will just start from the beginning.

We left on Thursday morning, July 9th at 3:30am for the airport. We boarded a plane headed for Houston, Texas where we had a 4 hour layover. Then we boarded another plane headed straight for Lima, Peru. After a very long 7 hour flight we arrived in Lima very exhausted. From there we were picked up by our FH (Food for the Hungry) director, Lauren. We bunked up at a very nice hotel in Lima and slept like babies :) The next morning we left for Chincha. When we arrived in Chincha we got settled in at our very nice hotel and went to bed. The next morning we didn't skip a beat! We went and helped put on a day and a half camp for the kids in the community. It was a blast! It was so much fun just hanging out with the youth and doing ministry with the leaders. After the camp we headed back to our hotel in Chincha. The rest of the week our typical day was waking up, breakfast, construction, lunch, and then the rest of the day was spent being in the community spending time with the families that lived there. We had so many opportunities to minister to the community.

I developed a love for Food For the Hungry and how they do ministry. I am looking forward to maybe interning with them in the future. I got really close with out FH director. She is awesome and I am so glad I got a chance to get to know her and pick apart her brain about missions. I also got to make friends with one of our translators who is amazing! She is coming down to Arizona soon so I am so excited about that! I am so thankful for the opportunity to go on this trip. I could honestly write forever about this trip so for your sake and mine I will end :) here are some pictures from the trip!

We Are Still Holding On

This week has been a hard week. Little Kate getting diagnosed with a serious brain tumor, Keire getting in a drunk driver accident, and the Mile family and that whole situation with Eddie's mom... It just seems that this whole week, hardship after hardship struck our church body. If you could be lifting up Kate, Keira, and the Mile family in prayer. But through all the hardships God still seems to be carrying us through. The always faithful creator never lets go. We are leaving for Peru on Thursday and I know God is going to do amazing things! If you could also be praying for our team.

I just want to take a moment to thank God for all he is and has done. We serve an amazing God.

Girls Night Out!

Last night the girls and I went to go see High School Musical at the Broadway Palms! We had a blast! We got all pretty and headed out for a night on the town! Although extremely cheesy, HSM was really good and defiantly entertaining! Great night! We also found Lambchop there which is really weird because he was giving us a ton of crap for going..... I guess when you are such a big fan you just cant really control yourself! It's ok Lambchop!

We focused on learning what it means to be the salt and light and about our part/duties in the body of Christ. This week was a real slap in the face to me if you know what I mean. I just realized that I have been doing just enough to have the "Christian card" and honestly I have been letting my team (the body of Christ) down. It is time for me to do my part, get off the bench, and start telling people about Jesus! Enough excuses, and enough justifying what I haven't done or have done. I am not ok with being a "good for nothing Christian" you are either all in or all out. I choose to be all in. This is what God has taught me and as I come down from the mountain I am going to try my best to be his hands and feet no matter what.
Hume also brought all of us girl together! I am pretty convinced I had the best cabin, on top of the best leader in the entire universe!

With Out A Doubt

I had the amazing privilege to go to the Paramore/No Doubt concert as my birthday present from my parents, couldn't have asked for a better gift! I went with my pal Keira and we had what I would call one of the best nights of my life! If you don't know me very well then you wouldn't know I am a HUGE Paramore fan! They are amazing and Hailey Williams is one of the most talented musicians I have ever heard. Anyways here is couple videos, one is a recap of the concert I went to and the other is recording of Paramore in Anaheim playing one of my favorite songs! Enjoy, be educated!

Having Purpose

This weekend I got the amazing privilege for Kensington to lead worship at a jr. high girls retreat. The whole weekends purpose was to love on these girls and share the simple truth that God loves them and they are worth so much. Not only did I get to see a lot of these girls lives be changed but I grew myself. I feel like this weekend that I have grown tremendously as a worship leader. I felt like God completely used me and Kensington this weekend in amazing ways. I am so proud of my band, they played amazing and we had a blast! I am also so stoked for this weekend, because Kensington is playing at Cornerstone! Its going to be good.

I have felt something this weekend that I have been searching for for a while to regain, and it feels so good! To have purpose and to understand and feel true love with my creator is a feeling like no other. I have my heart set on His will and purpose for me. I am running towards Him in everything.
